Dhaage ka farak

Naadani aur chutiyaape main sirf dhaage bhar ka farak hota hai. Sher ke mooh main ungli karna apne paripakvata pe nirbhar karta hai.

Today I experienced and learned that human relationships are very complex.  Philosophies that I write in here make a great read...but are very tough to practice.

I am also realizing the importance of communication and the difficulty in balancing people.

It is all about understanding their basic wants and needs.  It is about understanding their point of views. It is about empathizing with their state of mind, affairs and life.

It is about the ground work one requires to accomplish something with respect to their relationships. It is about timing, patience and an open mind. It is about flexibility.

To be torn in two or three parts between our favourite people is a very tough situation to be in. As always, condemning or retaliating is not the way.

Human relationships work only when we set aside our egos and go out of our way to address the complexities and ironies that co-exist.

I also learned that we cannot just be done away with a person in our life. Once there is a bond formed, the onus is upon us to keep it in tact and keep nourishing it with time, patience and love while supporting it with a tool called listening.

But that is the beauty of life.... to untangle a tricky situation.  Like I learned with my recent shoulder sprain, pinched nerves hurt like hell. It is to be undone in little miniature steps... neuron by neuron.

Personal relationships teach us about management. All sorts of them.

Approachability Quotient

It is important for a person to design their own style - on how they want to be perceived, approached and remembered.

Often times I take dads as a reference. Some of them are strict and belong to the military school of discipline and follow the code of ethics by the rule of books. This I believe, creates a pass between the child and parent. And with time it grows into an gap which is very difficult to bridge. Do not get me wrong mate, kids do need to be disciplined...but while keeping the fun intact.

I would like to design myself as a person with a very high approachability quotient.  And by that, I do not intend or mean to compromise on discipline, ethics, principles, structure, assertiveness or values.

What ought to be done shall and will be done in the right sense it deserves to be done. No compromise on that aspect of life.

But when it comes to interacting with people and children, I dislike creating an environment filled with an air of nervousness and fear.  That fear of being judged and reprimanded should be done away with from everybody's life. I want to be someone who is approachable no matter what ! ...and as someone who is very easy to get along with.

Too much of enigma and silence is intimidating and negative in my opinion and I strongly desist cultivating such a persona... be it with our peers, elderly or children. Our mere presence or name should cast a magic spell of relaxation and positivity in their minds and lives.

This is fairly very easy to achieve. Let us start by being non judgemental, positive, smiling, supportive and someone who is a patient listener. Let us resist ourselves from saying NO or condemning at the very first sight or opportunity.

For those of you who are parents or parents-to-be, start with your kids and family.  If you are a runaway hit inside, I don't see no reason why you cannot replicate such success with the outside world.

I am really excited and looking forward to improving my approachability quotient.... are you ?
Few experiences in life can be traumatic and unforgiving. But our greatness lies in being generous and forgiving while moving on. One should never forget those important lessons learned en route.

In these times of economical pressure for survival, and in this world where there is still so much beauty to be explored and experienced, lingering or getting stuck in the past isn't worth even a dime.

The real problem with past is not itself but people who derive a sadistic pleasure by scratching our wounds and reminding us of the times gone by.

And often, it is our choice between words and silence....between retaliation and ignorance which is a true reflection of our maturity and growth as a person.

Sometimes we don't realize the repercussions of our ways on the people who are an integral part of our lives.  Just underlines the importance of our behaviour, ethics, outlook, approach and above all decisions.

It is frustrating to be impacted by our own who do not have an inkling of what potential loss we are left to stare at. I cannot fathom what the real difficulty is in accepting ground realities and facing the truth. But how far can one run ? How long can one be a escapist ?

It is like denying our own aging process and assuming nothing has changed. It is being outright foolish and ignorant.
